Ambassador Qin Gang visited Asiatown to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival (端午节). Jusgo Group hosted a lion dance to welcome the ambassador and his entourage in front of Welcome Supermarket at D-Square Shopping Center. Due to security concerns, the event was not publicized; which also results in a more authentic view and feel of Asiatown.
Rebuilding relationships was one of the primary purpose of Ambassador Qin’s visit. In addition to Asiatown, Ambassador Qin also visited Asia Society of Houston and Rice University on his Houston trip. We hope in his visit of D-Square Shopping Center, we can demonstrates the perseverance and the evolution of the Asian communities in Houston.
