Jang Choong Dong Korean Restaurant: Soft Opens
JCD KR, a popular jokbal specialty themed Korean restaurant, has opened its first Houston branch! Technically, today is its first soft opening day!
What we like: A place for healthy and yummy cuisine, that is not a vegetarian restaurant. JCD KR’s jokbal is chewy and delicate, not to mention its high collagen content. Its bossam is another must order dish – delicious + no carb, high in protein and an excellent source of collagen. So many ways of eating it: on its own, dipped in JCD KR’s specialty sauce, or wrapped in lettuce. A diverse options of soups, including a hangover soup! The beef soup with onions is our favorite. Beef tender enough to melt in your mouth. Why spend hours preparing jokbal, bossam, or healthy soups when they are now available in Houston?!
Insider Tips: Ask for the specialty wasabi sauce to dip your meat in.. warning, it is addictive! Service could be slow as it just soft opens, so make sure you factor in time. Until its grand opening (expected end-Dec), it is reservation only. Do call to rsvp to avoid disappointment.
