Popular in Dallas since establishment in 2015, Jang Choong Dong (JCD) has finally opened in Houston upon popular demand. Specialized in traditional Jokbal (pork trotter) and Bossam (steamed pork belly), JCD is a daily go-to restaurant for many Asian families.
Jokbal, flavorful and chewy on the edge, is a delicious way to get natural collagen and elastin. BoSsam is best eaten wrapped in lettuce with a slice of garlic, green pepper, soybean paste sauce, radish and kimchi. Dynamic flavour, contrasting texture in one bite! Steamed too, and all healthy ingredients.
JCD also offers a variety of soups. The potato and pork soup (GamJa Tang) is amongst the most popular, with vibrant flavours that comes together with a spicy finish. Hard to stop after starting. Finally, must mention its “Hangover Soup” (HaeJang-Guk), a hearty beef broth with dried napa cabbage and vegetables.
