Houston’s Mounted Patrol Unit<\/span><\/h2>\n

Do you know – a police on a horse is as effective as 10 officers when it comes to crowd control?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, mounted patrol unit offers increased visibility and improved community relationship.\u00a0 At D-Square shopping center today, many queued up to take pictures with the officers and horses.\u00a0 Lots of smiles, lots of interaction, lot of community relationship building.\u00a0 Many great, fun pictures were taken (unfortunately, we did not ask for the rights to post them, so can only share the serious ones here).<\/p>\n

Another interesting knowledge:\u00a0 The Mounted Patrol Unit was established in the late 1980s.\u00a0 It is part of the Strategic Operations, Homeland Security Command, and Special Operations Division.\u00a0 \u00a0They can be seen patrolling at large scale events and Houston downtown area.<\/p>\n
